37 star flag info needed
A local auction has a 37 star flag for sale. No good pic or additional info is available other than ownership is attributed to U S Navy Rear Admiral Ralph Chandler(1829-1899.) The flag appears to be in excellent condition and "larger" in size with no visible fringe. I am assuming it is machine made cotton but cant tell how the stars or even the colors were applied. I'm also "assuming" offset horizontal star placement since no other unusual description was given in the auction listing- if it was unusual they probably would have said so.
SO........Anyone out there care to provide me with a value range...for the various grades from 3-5???
Thanks- I'm new to this so any hints or experience you can share would be highly appreciated!
Bill
