Here are the flags that we are flying today. Left to right: 50 star flag (as of today, the longest-lived US flag), 15 star/15 stripe flag, 13 star flag. On the carport staff in the background is the "Continental Colours" which was the flag on July 4, 1776.
That particular 13-star flag is a replica of the "Fowle flag," which is thought to have been the first US flag to be saluted by a British ship (in Boston in 1781). You can buy one from the "The Flag Guys" in New Windsor, NY, The Flag Guys, American Flags, confederate flags, flagpoles, civil war flags. They sell reproductions of many unique historic American flags, and are interested in developing more. (Check out their beautiful Lewis & Clark era flag, with the eagle in the canton). Al Cavalari, the owner, is a member of NAVA and a first-class guy. Tell him I sent you!
