Adding Eyelets to Large Flag

We are having a retirement ceremony in the next few months....

We are having a retirement ceremony in the next few months. We have a flag
of considerable size 36 X 25. We have a problem with hanging this flag
seeing that it has only to eyelets to hang it from. We would like to add
more but unable to find any information if this allowed without desecrating
the flag. Any information you can furnish on this would be most helpful.

Adding eyelets to your flag to hang it by will not desecrate it. Just be sure not to have the flag dragging on the floor or getting soiled while you are working on it. Sounds like quite a large flag--hope youve got some help!
