| Howdy, repetersen ! Welcome to the USA-Flag-Site forums! You can still find American Patriotism blossoming here and there and everywhere and a lot of it is in plain sight! Like right HERE in these forums! And, yes, there are Americans who still get inspired by Toby Keith's song, "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American)". Maybe not quite as many as there were when the song was recorded and released in the Spring of 2002, but they ARE out there. For those readers who are unfamiliar with the song and who might want to know a little more about it (history, background, etc.), there is a WikiPedia page devoted to it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courtesy_of_the_Red,_White,_&_Blue_(The_Angry_Amer ican) Also, whether you click on repetersen's YouTube link to watch/listen to the video or not, here are the lyrics to "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American)" : "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American)" American girls and American guys, will always stand up and salute. We'll always recognize, when we see ol' glory flying, There's a lot of men dead, So we can sleep in peace at night when we lay down our heads. My daddy served in the army where he lost his right eye, But he flew a flag out in our yard 'til the day that he died. He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me. To grow up and live happy in the land of the free. Now this nation that I love is fallin' under attack. A mighty sucker-punch came flying in from somewhere in the back. Soon as we could see clearly through our big black eye, Man, we lit up your world like the fourth of July. [CHORUS] Hey, Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list, And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist. And the eagle will fly and it's gonna be hell, When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell. And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you. Ah, brought to you, courtesy of the red, white and blue. { INSTRUMENTAL BREAK } Oh, justice will be served and the battle will rage: This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage. An' you'll be sorry that you messed with the U.S. of A. 'Cos we'll put a boot in your ass, it's the American way. Oh, oh. Of the red, white and blue. Oh, hey, oh. Of my Red, White and Blue. From my own personal point of view I'd just like to state, with the benefits gained through many years' worth of observations, that while there are many different kinds of patriotism and many more of psuedo-patriotism, we should never confuse patiorism with politics, or heart-pumping with chest thumping, or a quiet national pride with the silent, seething hated of others, or closing our eyes while praying for our Nation with the worst kind of in-your-face "blind patriotism". But then, that's just me and the value of my two Lincoln Pennies! Again, welcome to our forums, repetersen ! Robin "Remember Lee Greenwood's Song, 'God Bless The USA'?" Hickman

| As I think Robin Hickman was saying as well, the kind of patriotism associated with liking that song is not the only form of patriotism. Participation in democracy is how I measure patriotism, and from what I see, that is at an all-time high.

| I DON"T BELIEVE THAT. "America has patriotism". But now America is doing something wrong that is not supposed to do by America. But it is not America's fault or the whole nation can't be blamed for that. There are some people who are directly involved to tarnish the Americans image. For their own need they are doing wrong things which are totally opposite to American patriotism. Such as the destroying of World trade Center or the attack on Pentagon. Where were the SUPERPOWER CIA or FBI then? Were they involved into the destruction? I know it is not the CIA or FBI to carry the can, they just obied their duty, there were some big shots who being American destroyed their own nation. by the way, I strongly believe, America has patriotism. America will never back down. Its true lovers, American or non-American, anyone from anywhere, will save this Great nation from any grave danger. GOD bless America. Shakir.
