American flag v. Mexican flag at CA. high school...

Subject: American flag v. Mexican flag at CA. high school--disgusting public

THE AMERICAN FLAG COMES SECOND
By Michelle Malkin

You will not see this heart-stopping photo on the front page of the NY Times

or on the lead story of the major news networks.
You should.

Student protest in Whittier area students from Pioneer, California
and Whittier high schools walked out of classes to protest the proposed fede
ral immigration bill March 27, 2006. The protestors put up the Mexican flag over the American flag flying upside down at Montebello High.
(Leo Jarzomb/Staff photo)

Meanwhile: Mexico Cheers Passage of Immigration Bill
Like I said: Welcome to reconquista.

I predict this stunt will be the nail in the coffin of any
guest-worker/amnesty plan on the table in Washington. The image of the American flag subsumed to another and turned upside down on American soil is already spreading on Internet forums and via e-mail. Pass this along to every American citizen in your address books and to every representative in the state and federal government.
If you choose to remain uninvolved do not be amazed when you no longer have a nation to call your own nor anything you have worked for left since it will be "redistributed" to the activists while you are so peacefully staying out of the "fray". Check history, it is full of nations/empires that disappeared
when its citizens no longer held their core beliefs and values. One person CAN make a difference. One plus one plus one plus one plus one plus one.........

Students are In America! Not Mexico. If you want to stay here,America
comes first, last, and always... otherwise go back and make it better wherever you came from but don't try to turn my country into yours by ILLEGALLY entering mine and then demanding all the benefits of a LEGAL citizen of our nation....
NO funding from federal tax dollars for any student out of class that day or any other day for such subversive activities.......teacher led or not. If
teachers were involved, fire them and hire some that respect America!

IF YOU DON'T STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS,
PLEASE, FEEL FREE TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEM !!!

Whenever you see something like this happening, you always have to remember, it's not what's legal, lawful, proper or correct. It's all about the bottom line. Who stands to profit the most from this legislation? Who is making the most money from this type of spin?

America is letting the Mexicans get away with it because they are scared of the discrimination they will yell. We need to take a stand because if we don't they are going to just keep right on walking all over us. This is our Country and we need to let them know we are not going to take it any more. I agree that they need to either stand behind our laws and obey or go back from where they came from.

im neither an american or mexican citizen.. nor do i live in either of those countries.... but heres my opinion anyway.

whenever somebody should move - legally or illegally- to another country they should conform to the rules of the country that they have moved to.

saying ' when in Rome do as the Romans do'

i was compltely shocked when i went to the USA last year to see Spanish language written on roadsigns and on candy wrappers and other locations. i thought America was an English speaking country.
As i was when i walked down a neighbourhood street to see one house with a flagpole out front with a Mexican flag flying on it no Stars and Stripes in sight! i had a good mind to knock on the door of that house and ask the owner what he was playing at.... my American friends who i was with suggested i leave well alone.

at least if he was to fly the Mexican flag which hes perfectly within his rights to do so he should if in a foreign country have a seperate flagpole to fly the host countries flag aswell. it is only commoin decency and respectful.

but the acts of foreign citizens were not the only thing to shock me in the world of flags- whilst walking down these neighbourhood streets i also found people flying American flags from poles in the yard on trees and from angled poles attached to the house. Some of the flags i saw were in need of some TLC to say the least! with frayed fly ends and in a couple of cases the stitching of the stripes had started to come apart. saw dirty flags and flags which had wrapped themselves around their poles. Hardly patriotic is it? id rather see no flag at all than a flag like that.
if i lived on their street i would take all their flags with permission and clean them and stitch them back together an return them.

I agree with you american flag uk there are a lot of people that have worn and tattered flags. It upsets me too especially when all it takes is the proper flag disposal and then buying another one for a few dollars. My dad is a VET and I was raised to love the flag and the country and my neighbors regardless of skin color. It is just sad that the world is letting others get a way with what they do to our American flag. It is a symbol of love, loss and unity to me and it really upsets me when I see others disrespect that. I always try to look at things with an open mind but when they can come into our Country and try and run things there way instead of ours it really makes me mad. I really appreciate your reply. I see your point all the way. God Bless America and all Our Troops who have faught and died and survived for all of us!

Hey everybody,

Stop your winning and grow up! This is Aztlan and we will retake it at all cost. YOU are the Pilgrim immigrants who came here and killed my people, stold our lands, depleated out natural resources and now you want us to stay quiet! I SAY NO! This was, is and will be AZTLAN the land of the natives, the Mexicans and the American Indians! Califas will be returned to us to repay for the attrocities that have been brought upon us by you the low life rejects from Europe. AZTLAN is our motherland and you can separate the child from his mother, but when the child grows up and realizes what has been done to him he returns for what is his. You talk about the WWII genocide of the Jews, what about the genocide MY PEOPLE of AZTLAN have suffered at your hands. What about the slaves you brought here to exploit, use and abuse? You non-natives should be ashamed of yourselves. You pilgrims should atone and repent for all the evil you have brought upon our great motherland. Repent before it is too late.

MexicanNotPilgrim says... until we meet again.

You know Mexican not pilgrim you are smoking something that makes you sound a little wacko. If you think you can come back and take what is not rightfully yours go ahead and try. You will just be defeated once again. Where I live there are a lot of hispanic people and some of them are my friends, good friends and some are like you sound. It is really sad that you have to think that way. You need to grow up and realize a lot of people wouldn't mind that hispanic people were here but you all think you can go in and steal from stores and live off the goverment and etc etc etc. Sad thing is there are alot of hispanic people out there that are very good workers. I have a best friend that is full blooded mexican and they never have once acted or talked like you. May God Bless you and if you can't live by the laws and love it then just leave it and go back to where you came from.

I disagree. America is letting them get away with it because we are a free democracy, and freedom of speech is one of our most fundamental values. We tolerate their silly demonstration because it does not, in any way, threaten us. On the contrary, our toleration of such actions makes us stronger. It shows that we truly believe in the ideals that our country stands for, and know that we have nothing to fear from foolish and misguided acts of symbolism.

America was founded by people of many different countries, which has made the USA a stonger country. They did not try to make the USA French, German, Austrian, Hungarian, Itialian, Czechoslovakian, or any other nationality, they came here to be AMERICAN. Did we post signs in other languages...NO our ansestors learned the language, they conformed to the AMERICAN way of life, did that mean that they gave up their culture? No...they still retained their culture, but not at the expense of becoming AMERICAN. This is not little mexico, this is AMERICA....love it or leave it. To all the illigal immigrants, stop your whining, learn to be AMERICAN or go back home if you love it so much. Why did you leave mexico, needed freedoms, security, oportunities...great...make something of yourself and stop relying on the government for handouts. Stop waiting for us to adapt to your language...learn the ENGLISH language..it is the offical language of our country. It is a sad day when some illigal immigrants can scurry across the border and start telling us what we can and cannot do. GO BACK to mexico and fly your flag over your hut and drink some water.

I don't normally reply to these bicker fests, but this is such a hot issue in California right now that people need to find a solid sensible ground to live and work together!!
as the great MLK said, "we will live together as brothers or perish as fools!"
now, i am not for anti-immigration. there are two sides to the story. Mexico and the USA are BOTH exploiting immigrant workers. I don't think any American person blames people in desperate situations who come here to work and don't cause trouble, even if they break the law to do it. however, Mexico has not even attempted to solve their financial crisis and take in all the free income that people send there.
Ever gone into a Bank of America and seen Spanish signs that read "Send Money Faster and Easier to Mexico"?
Where is their motivation to fix their own country's problems?
I also agree with the British writer's posting. Have some respect for a foreign country!! i've lived abroad and i have done my best to obey the customs and culture of the land!
As for the ignorance of Atzlan girl- wake up, chica!! I have been in Mecha and you sound like one of those angry racists that made me want to leave it! you do nothing for your cause!! in fact, you sound similar to the nutty Palestinians that want to rule over Israel and blow up America...have you forgotten even though Americans fairly took over this land in war, but paid Mexico about a million dollars in those days just so there wouldn't be attempts to recapture the land? you are never gonna set all of history right because let's face it- everyone has been brutal to someone else at some point in time...even your precious Aztecs. Better to go from this point on to be fair.
I am not sure amnesty is the answer, but crazy Atzlan girl also does have a point- US businesses are definitely exploiting workers who pay into a system that they are technically not part of. that is not fair! if someone wants to come over to work but can't afford immigration fees to do it legally, we should work with them. Mexico also needs to cooperate with us to better their own economy- if we are corrupt, they are twice over!
look- the USA is not perfect...but where do you see any other country so diverse and democratic?
anyway...that's what i think.
