Semper Paratus, Robin! My grandfather was Coast Guard officer, and held the rank of Commodore during World War II. I have his Commodore's pennant -- I'll post a photo one of these days.

    Hi, Peter !

The Coast Guard Flag is one of my favorite acquisitions.

I found it at my neighborhood Wal*Mart. They have a small flag display at the end of one of the stationery/book aisles. For some period of time, I'd say at least a couple of years, there were two Annin USCG Flags in their boxes sitting on the bottom shelf. No other State or Military flags, just those two USCG flags mixed in with all of the USA Flag merchandise. I don't remember the exact price, but I'd say it was somewhere in the neighborhood of $24.88. or so.

One day as I was walking by the Flags display I saw that there was only one Coast Guard flag box left and it had a little red sticker on it. I stopped and picked up the box to read what the little red sticker said. Then I went straight to a check-out stand and bought it.

    The price?

50 cents!!! (It was on "clearance"!)

    SEMPER PARATUS, indeed !!!

Hi Robin. Today I took down the Texas flag and put up the US flag for Coast Guard Day. I don't have a Coast Guard flag.

    Hi, Wild Bill!

You forgot to add the word "yet" at the end of your reply.

As in, "I don't have a Coast Guard flag, YET".
