Color Guard Flag Raising

? when doing a flag rasing like at the start of a sporting event. Is it OK to carry the flag folded as part of the honor guard without a flag bearer carrying the Americanflag on a pole. In effect after the folded flag is raised, the color guard walks off with just the Post/or State flag whichever is part of the color guard. I am thinking the American flag should always be present as part of the color guard.

I agree. A color guard presentation and a flag-raising ceremony are two different things, and trying to combine them doesn't work very well. If the opening ceremony is supposed to include both, they should be done sequentially and/or by two different groups of people.
