Hi William,
The correct postion for display of the Flag on a vehicle is to attach the flag to the attena or to attach the flagstaff to the right fron fender or window. Here is a link to a great site that has picutre howtos on general flag displays. American Flag Display Etiquette, by ProAdvance Global Event Production
Have a great day,

As a quick follow-up - if you're talking about a decal or sticker rather than a cloth flag, remember that the stars face forward and the stripes point behind, like someone is holding the flag and running into battle.

Regarding uniforms, for US Military, the flag on the left shoulder should have the field on the viewer's left. On the right shoulder, the field should be on the viewer's right. However, there is some question for police uniforms as to the proper display on the right shoulder. Since police are not representing the nation, should the field be on the viewer's left when the flag is worn on the right shoulder?

Re: Correct Position of Flags
I would like to know the proper way to display our American flag on a wall with the stripes going vertical. Would the stars be on the right or left at the top? Thanks.
