Default Crossing the Flag

There is a story why you do not cross the area between the US Flag and another flag when both are posted. Example you do not pass a paper to the head table between the flags. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the story?
Thanks

.
I Googled "Crossing the Flag".

There were 75 English pages returned. THIS particular Forum thread is in the second set of returned results.

I stopped and checked out 10 or 12 of them, but found nothing connected to the subject of this inquiry, "Crossing the Flag".

That does NOT mean that the information is NOT there! It just means that I did NOT happen to find it on the 10 or 12 pages I checked!
