    That was quite a vexillological relic. It sold for $2 million in December.

    No, I didn't place a bid, though Sotheby's did send me a catalog (wishful thinking on their part.)

    I could have afforded to pay $54.

    It MUST be a FAKE, cuz I bought the REAL one on eBay for 99 cents (+$1.50 S&H) !!!

    It was made of 100% genuine antique NYLON with authentic machine-embroidered POLYESTER stars, and a real, honest-to-goodness, DACRON header that had an authentic BAR CODE heat-stamped right in the middle, and IMPORTED all the way from old-town Shanghai, CHINA still in its PLASTIC bag !!!
