Default Dave went flag shopping again.

I know, it's been over 2 months since my last flag acquisition, the 48 star flag I won on eBay.

As we approach high flag season I went shopping:

    1) Added to historical flags collection - it's a Gadsden flag, made by Ruffin, 3'x5' - nylon, all embrodiered design! Photos later. It has the standard Ruffin jumbo grommets, but they did throw in two snap hooks like one would use with an in ground pole. Got this at my local bricks and mortar flag shop for $29.95. So I guess they now carry Ruffin. The snap hooks even say Ruffin on them. I know their economy poly printed flags are cheap, but their nylon stuff actually looks pretty good.

    2) I bought a (user ducks for the debate he is about to start) gold fringe indoor USA flag for my home office flag pole. Now it looks just like the flag seen in offices of those important people. Got it from CVS Flag. I didn't see any manufacturer marks but the UPC code on the package barcode traces back to a Valley Forge PErma Nylon indoor parade flag (w/ fringe and pole hem)

    3) Also updated my stick flag collection - updating my Burma (Myanmar) and Malawi flags (they don't have South Sudan yet) - as well as stick flags for Ohio and even the city of Cincinnati.

    Pics later!

    David,
Is the DTOM flag made of thick, stiff, almost tent grade nylon?

Well, the packing slip identifies it as 300D nylon. I knew something felt different about it, doesn't fold as easily either. I was thinking tarp material, but I suppose tent would work as well.

I bought it mainly for the embroidery work, which set it apart from the other Gadsden flags they had on offer. Thank the tea party, for they had at least 4 different models on display depending on what size and construction you wanted. This one must have been popular as I didn't find any on the shelves and had to send the clerk into the stock room for it.

To follow up - I have identified my flag flying schedule for the high flag holiday month:

Week of June 5 - Gadsden
Week of June 12 - Betsy Ross (It's Flag Day week)
Week of June 19 - Star Spangled Banner
Week of June 26 - Grand Union (seems fitting for the lead in to..)
Week of July 3 - Bennington ("76" flag)
