Default Defiance flags

I just found a selection of brand new, 3x5 Defiance flags including 48 star USA, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Israel, Denmark and Great Britain. Also an 8x5 flag gold harp on a green backround. As all flags were in the same package and predate Alaska & Hawaii, is there any particular value?

That was a nice find. The foreign national flags you found were, unfortunately, from fairly stable countries after WWII, so unless the Italian flag has the arms of Savoy in the center, or the German flag is black, white, red, they have only modest collector value. Sweden, Israel, Denmark, and the UK flags haven't changed in years. Sweden's is a century old, Denmark's is the oldest national flag in the world, UK was new in 1801, and Israel has never changed their flag - adopted upon independence in 1947. A nice, crisp, 48-star flag with sewn stars will be valuable for its condition, but probably not much more than a 50-star flag at full retail. Try looking up "48 star flag" on eBay and then click on "completed auctions" to see what they really sold for.

Nick

Thanks so much, Nick. I know nothing about flags and I appreciate your help.
