Flag banner from light pole
There is a lighted sidewalk in my town with lightpoles on the east side of the sidewalk and American flag banners hanging vertically over the sidewalk. The star field is next to the light pole and I don't think this is right. I think the star field should be away from the light pole but I want to make sure. I can't find any thing that tells me different and I've emailed the town hall about it with no reply. I'm a Boy Scout leader and we're marching in our Independance Day Parade this Saturday and I just think this looks bad. Can anyone help me on this?

Re: Flag banner from light pole
According to the United States Flag Code: "When the flag of the United States is displayed from a staff projecting horizontally or at an angle from the window sill, balcony, or front of a building, the union of the flag should be placed at the peak of the staff unless the flag is at half-staff." This goes for flag staffs projecting from light poles.
