Was there ever a flag with the stars in the lower left hand corner?

The closest thing I'm aware of is the Easton Flag. It is blue, with 13 stars (12 in a circle and one in the middle) in the field, and 13 red and white stripes in the canton (sort of the reverse of the American flag.) You can see a picture of it, and some historical information, here:

The Easton Flag

The original Easton flag is displayed at a public library in Easton, Pennsylvania (the above link is to the library website). The flag dates back at least to the War of 1812, but there is some controversy about whether it's any older than that. The people in Easton like to say that the flag was made at the beginning of the Revolutionary War, but as far as I know this is just local folklore. It is a very interesting flag in any case.
