    Default Flag patch on backpack

I'm new, so forgive me if this question has been asked before. I did a search and couldn't find anything. But I was wondering if it is proper to wear a flag patch on a backpack. While I would like to put a patch on my backpack, my feeling is that it's not quite up to the flag code. Is there something in the flag code that might address that? I would appreciate any help possible.
    Thank you,

    Jason

    Jason,

Welcome to the USA Flag Forum, and thanks for your question.

Believe it or not, the United States Flag Code does not address flags on backpacks!

It covers flags on poles, staffs, walls, uniforms, floats in a parade, vehicles, railroad trains, boats, statues, monuments, over the middle of a street, on a speaker's platform, in lobbies and corridors, but not on backpacks.

If I were to offer a draft amendment to the flag code to specifically cover backpacks, it would read: "The Flag may be affixed, horizontally or vertically, to a backpack in a prominent location with the union to the observer's left. The flag should be the principal feature displayed, with no other decorations, patches, illustrations, etc., allowed, other than the original backpack manufacturer's name or logo as supplied on the backpack."
