flag pole flood light

Hello. When I was shopping for a flag I was given some excellent advice on what to look for and a few brands that are quality flags. Now, I'm looking for a flood light or spot light to illuminate my flag at night. Any opinions on similar advice for a flood light? I have a 30 foot pole. thanks

Hello all. No luck yet....still looking. The pole has been up for awhile though. I've noticed, unfortunately, that a 30 foot 2"diam sectional pole exercises it's ability to sway with just a light breeze. I am flying a 4X6 American flag with a 3X5 US Navy flag below. My options to help correct that would be to remove a flag and/or remove a 5 foot pole section. Dont want to do either, so I will be careful to remove both flags in case of a wind storm. Maybe, one of these days, I will find a 25 foot tapered sectional pole (used) to replace what I have. I'm thinking that may help provide more stability.

Waiting for a light breeze, then will take a few pics to post. My Navy Nuke son was home during Christmas and went out to inspect the pole. I think it passed inspection....halyard, knots, clips, cleat all "squared away". He gave me an official Navy flag for Christmas. I will treasure it.

I don't have any "real" experience with sectional flagpoles, regardless of their heighth, so I don't know if I would be of any assistance to you. Come to think of it, I don't have any experience dealing with residential and/or commercial flagpoles, period.

I don't suppose you could post three or four photos of your flagpole, including a close-up of at least one of the sections? Maybe one of our members and/or guests might be able to see how it's put together and will be able to give you some advice on how to "tighten" things up.

I don't know if you actually CAN tighten the joints on your flagpole. I know that, in a general sense, mechanical things that are subject to stresses and vibrations (such as a flagpole in the wind) occassionally need to be checked and the connectors tightened when necessary.

Other than tightening the sectional fasteners, the only other thing I can think of would be to use some kind of "splint" or "cast" (can't think of the correct word) to cover and strengthen each of the joints.

The best advice I might be able to give you would be to get in touch with the flagpole's manufacturer. If anyone would know what to do, I would assume that it would be them, right?

Take a look at the TITAN TELESCOPING FLAG POLE. I have one and fly 3 flags. The US, 4 X 6, under that a USMC, 3 X 5, and below that a Viet Nam Vets 3 X 5 and they do great. I live here on the Oregon coast, Brookings.... Plus they have a LED light for the top, which I have also... Best of luck in your search.

I found a 120v 50 watt halogen spot light (at Lowes) with a built in 'dusk to dawn' photo eye, and for only $20.00! The plug cord is only around 3 ft. Long, so you need an outlet close by. I just put it up, so I will let you know how well it works after it gets dark tonight. My pole is 33' tall and the American flag is 6'x8. The spotlight comes with a ground stake, which I couldn't use because my flag pole is on a dock. I mounted a 1' PVC coupler on a piling and just dropped the ground stake into it.

I just went out and took a picture with my camera phone, not the best image, it is little brighter than it looks. Anyway, very happy with the $20.00 Lowes light! It is mounted on a dock piling around 11ft from the pole base.
