Flag Pole Height

Flag Pole Height for flags...

Hi
I remember reading about flag etiquette a long time ago and one of the rules
was that the flag pole height was to be 3 or 4 times the length of the flag.
Could you tell me what the correct ratio is and if this is still a rule? I've
been seeing a lot of what seem to be oversized flags on poles (especially at
car dealerships), and I would like to inform them if it is disrespectful. I look
