Flag pole placement

I am attaching to flag poles to front porch of my home. I know that the USA flag will go on the left pillar and the US Army Flag will go on the right pillar when looking at the flags from the street. My question "Is there any guidance on how high the base of the flag pole is suppose to site above the ground, or is it owners choice as long as the flag will not touch the ground.

Sorry for the lateness of this reply to your question. I just now saw it (almost three months after it was posted), but I'll try to answer it even though it's SO "late".

I know of no "official" rule on the height that a house Flag set should be.

While I can honestly say that "higher is better" (within reason), I can also say that placing the flagpole holder so that the Flag will be clearly in view and NOT come into contact with anything else is a VERY good thing, too!

My own personal preference would be to place the Flag & Pole's holder as high as any ADULT in the house could be able to SAFELY reach up, without assistance or ladder, and remove the Flag & pole from it.


I know that this response of mine is almost three months "late", but I hope my advice and opinion will still be of good use to somebody !!!
