Flag on staff on FLOOR - right or left side?

At scout meetings, we display a US flag and a Scout flag in the front of the auditorium on staffs on the FLOOR, not on a "speaker's platform". The flag code reads:

"When used on a speaker's platform, the flag, if displayed flat, should be displayed above and behind the speaker. When displayed from a staff in a church or public auditorium, the flag of the United States of America should hold the position of superior prominence, in advance of the audience, and in the position of honor at the clergyman's or speaker's right as he faces the audience. Any other flag so displayed should be placed on the left of the clergyman or speaker or to the right of the audience."

I've heard respected people suggest the flag goes on the right from the audience perspective, unless it's on a speaker's platform (then it clearly goes on the speaker's right - audience left). Which side does the US flag belong on when displayed from the floor?

the flag of the United States goes on its own right - whether it be a speakers platform- staffs stood from the floor - or outdoor flagpoles infront of a house or building
whichever way your main audience faces - and this can be the scouts themselves as they face the leader when he talks - the flags from the scouts' point of view will be the US flag on the left and the scout flag to the right

in the flag code the term 'speakers platform' is used loosely - it doesnt HAVE to be a platform - it can be where ever he is stood or sat whether it be a stage a floor a platform or whatever else

'the flag of the United States of America should hold the position of superior prominence'
these positions of prominence are to the right and also of height

height doesnt apply when it is with another national flag - but it can with a scout flag - say if your were to raise the 2 flags up one pole the US flag would be at the top

Hi American_Flag_UK. This is not my group, because I don't have a good photo, but it's representative of a typical scout setup. The photo is taken from the audience while awards are being handed out to some of the boys. This example matches your description of how to display the flag, so I assume this is an example of correct placement. The blue flag in the foreground is a den flag that is next to each group of boys in the audience. It is not part of the main flags in the back with the US flag. Thanks for your reply.
