Flagpole Truck maintenance
Hello,
I have just built a 55 foot flagpole here in Northern New Mexico, which is guy wired off to withstand the breezes coming off the Rocky Mountains. I have a truck on top which has a dual set of ball bearing so it can rotate easily.
I note that after just a month, the truck is not "tracking" as easily as it did when brand new. Obviously, at that height, maintaining it is nearly impossible. I know somebody has to have faced this problem in the past and dealt with it successfully, but I do not know how to accomplish this task. Is there some device you can attach to the line so you can raise it and lubricate these bearings? I'd appreciate expereinced insights on this matter. Lowering the pole is out of the question.
Thanks in advance,
Gene So
