Flags and the Space Program
One of my main hobbies/interests is the space program; I love discovering some used book/puzzle from when I was a kid in the '60s and '70s.
One good tidbit of trivia I came across was about the flags worn on the sleeves of astronauts' spacesuits. The astronauts for Gemini 4, which featured Ed White's iconic "first American spacewalk", added the sleeve flags by themselves. The flags were not NASA's idea, but Jim McDivvitt and Ed White's. They bought the flags and had them sewn onto their 'suits. After that, beginning w/ Gemini 5, flags became a regular part of astronauts' attire.
Sincerely,
Dopey
