| At our upcoming Memorial Day Ceremony we plan on having our color guards march down an aisle between headstones in our cemetery. Because of lack of space, would it be proper to have the Banners of the American Legion and other organizations proceed down the isle, place their banners in holders thwn have the National Colors enter and be placed? I am not sure if this would be proper and I would like some guidance. Thanks Larry

| Hello, Larry -- welcome! The quick answer is that that the national color should enter first, followed by the others in order of protocol. Army and USMC regulations have fairly detailed protocols for posting the colors, but the general rule seems to be that the US flag enters and leaves first. Best, Peter Ansoff
