Flying a foreign flag in the US.
I was born in Italy and lived there for 12 years. Moved to Canada in 1950 and in 1969 I moved to the United States. While I worked in the US I was assigned to oversee a project in Germany. At no time, while I lived in these different countries did I wish to fly a foreign flag because I feel that it is disrepectful to do so.
I am a naturalized American citizen as I was a naturalized Canadian citizen when I lived there. This is my country now until I die and I feel very strongly that a foreign flag may be flown by individual on their own property but an American flag should be flown next to the foreign flag on a separate pole. The American flag should never be smaller and never fly lower than the foreign Flag.
A foreign flag should never be flown on a public building unless by special permission of the proper authority and should only be flown for a specified amount of time and then taken down.
I welcome comments as I wish to know how other Americans feel about this subject.
