Default Memorial Day Flag

Thanks for serving our country. On Memorial Day the flag should be at half-staff until noon, then it should be raised to the top of the staff.

Hi Eagles,

The American flag as you know, should be displayed on all days unless of course the weather is inclement. If you have an all-weather flag, then you can display it no matter what the weather is like. One of the 'special' days when the flag should absolutely be displayed is Memorial Day. And yes, your hunch is correct, the flag should be displayed at half-mast until noon, the last Monday in May.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for your service in Vietnam. The answer to your question is that yes, the flag should be flown at half-staff position on Memorial day--but only until noon. At that time it should be raised until the end of the day.

Default Memorial Day flag flying

On Memorial Day, the flag is flown at half-staff until noon. Here's the proper sequence: In the morning, raise the flag to full staff and slowly lower it to half-staff. At noon, raise the flag to the top of the pole. In the evening, slowly lower and ceremoniously remove the flag.

Default Memorial day Flag Flying

Vietnam war was one the Americans would want to forget quickly about. It was a disastrous decision there and of human right violence. But of course America should concede this mistake.
