Happy 50th Birthday to the 50-Star Flag!
Today, 4 July 2010, is the 50th anniversary of the first official raising of the current Flag of the United States. The ceremony was held at Fort McHenry in Baltimore.
Here is a picture of my home at dawn with the 50-star flag displayed vertically:

This is also the occasion of my 500th post to this Forum. I hope that a few of them, at least, have been of some small value.
Happy Independence Day!

Re: Happy 50th Birthday to the 50-Star Flag!
It was someone posting on another forum about the 50th anniversary that led me to this forum earlier today! If I did my math correctly, this is now the longest length of time that a US flag has been in use - it has surpassed the 47 years (1912 - 1959) of the 48 star flag.
And in the short time I've surfed this forum, I've found plenty of value in your posts, Nick!
