    Post House Mounted Flag Pole

I am about to buy my first house mounted Flag Pole and need to have some feed back on which manufacture makes the best House Mounted Flag Pole. I am not looking for a cheap built one.

Since this is on flag poles I am sure that this question has been brought up many times before. I am new here and look forward in hearing from many on this topic.

Yes it is about time I have a FLAG in my frount yard since I served my country as both of my childen have. I will be looking forward in hearing from you.

You may ask why so big of print it is hard her me to see.

Check out Sunsetter. That is where I bought my last flagpole. They make a telescoping flagpole and they also make a house mounted flagpole. Check them out at, click on the following link, SunSetter Awnings - Retractable Deck and Patio Awning There prices are a little high, but there product is AMERICAN made!!! Look on the top of their page for the flagpole section.

    Hello, Big Oak !

Welcome to the USA-Flag-Site Forums !

    IF you want MY advice . . . . .

You might want to check out your local Wal*Mart store. at the Wal*Mart closest to me, they have a pretty good selection of American Flags and flag-related "stuff" all made by the world's oldest and largest flag manufacturers, Annin & Co.

For example they have a complete "home" Flag set that includes a "small" (2.5' x 4') American Flag, 5' flagpole, and pole bracket for $19.00.

Also for $19, they have a 5' "never furl" flagpole and holder (very nice), or you can get a VERY nice nylon Flag that has embroidered Stars and sewn Stripes. $38.00 will get you BOTH of them !!!

(And yes, Wal*Mart does carry cheaper Flags and Flag Sets, too!)

You don't necessarily have to go to a local Wal*Mart. I'm sure that "Big Box" hardware stores (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.)carry Flags and Flag Sets too. Just remember, you pretty much "get what you pay for" no matter where you go.

Big Oak, there are ALL sorts of Flags, poles, and holders available "out there" on the internet!!! It can all be SO confusing, PLUS, you won't REALLY know what you bought until you get it in the mail!

    Hope this helps !

Thank you for bringing your Flag-related question to our Forums !!!

I'm a fan of the "Spinning" flagpole. Almost every major flag dealer distributes them. I believe they are of aluminum, but feel pretty solid. The feature is that the top 40" can rotate around on ball bearings. The idea is that the flag will never furl, beause the pole rotates around with the flag,it's not perfect but it does work pretty well. You even get color choices (I went with silver), and finial choices (Ball or Eagle - I have one of each, since I fly a US Flag, then have a second pole (and mount) for a seasonal flag.

You can get them in 1 or 2 piece variety, with 2 piece being good for storage. The 40" top, limits you to a 3'x5' flag max, but thats really about all you need for a 6' pole.

Be advised though, that at least Annin's catalog warns its an import item. I got mine from Valley Forge and the butt of the pole is embossed "Made in China"

Or by "more expensive" were you looking for a slightly bigger 'outrigger type' pole that mounts onto a building but is longer and has a regular truck and halyard system?

Flags.com carries the free spinning flagpole, which as coasterville said, is pretty solid. We also carry outrigger poles but they are recommended for taller buildings such as in a corporate setting. Disclosure: I am Flags.com

You can locate the poles discussed above on our site at Buy Residential & Commercial Flag Poles and Accessories Here.
