Exclamation How to take down the American Flag

I recently had the misfortune of watching a local postal worker take down the flag, and was appalled at how she did it.

After getting it down she just crumpled it up and part of it was dragging the ground, which she promptly stepped on. I secretly hoped she'd fall.

I asked her if this is how she treated our American flag, she snorted and said 'yeah, why?' I just shook my head, for lack of anything to say. She further crumpled it up to carry it inside.

What I would like to know is: How do you take down the flag. Should it not be taken down by two people and folded? I wish to send the instructions to our local postmaster, if it that doesn't work, I will be approaching Town Hall. I can't stand this type of disrespect of our flag.

The instructions are printed with 98% of flags sold. BSA hase a booklet on ths subject.
If the flag is large then a 5 footer there may need to have two people. You should report the location of the PO to the Poster Master General, Washington DC or of your State/Commonwealth. It should be folded in triangle fashion. Remember...the PO staff is in a hurry to get home and could care less about a flag seen everyday...up and down. The Post Master of that station is not watching/does not want to use more staff then he/she can get away with..or they will raise your stamp cost.
