HiYa, Wayniac99 !!!

Welcome to the USA-Flag-Site Forums !

"How Worn Is TOO Worn" ???

GOOD question!

In the case of your "small neighborhood pool club in New York City" and the "Worn/NOT Worn" American Flag, the best answer might be in the form of a brand new American Flag!

After all, the "old" flag has spent the past 11 summers hanging on the wall of an indoor pool facility. In all likelyhood, it's probably been pretty humid in there, and if you guys use chlorine in the pool water, then part of that humidity is chlorine. In addition to any fading that might occur because of it, do you have any idea what the chlorine does to the Flag fabric itself?

I'm NOT trying to get you to go out and spend your hard-earned cash on a new Flag for no good reason. Go buy an American Flag of the same size as the old one. Display both Flags side-by-side and see how they compare. Heck, maybe you could have the Pool Club Members VOTE for which one they want to have hanging up on the wall !!!

IF the members choose the "old" one, then the "Board Member" who thought it should be replaced will have to be quiet about it for the rest of the Summer, as the "Members Have Spoken"! PLUS, you'll already have the new one on hand for that time in the future when it DOES become necessary to replace the old one!

IF the Club Members choose the new one, then hang it up in place of the old one. THEN take the old one home with you as a "souvenir"!

And EVERYBODY have a GREAT Summer !!!

Thank you for bringing your Flag-related question to our Forums !

Hi, Wayniac99 !

QUOTE : "FYI - Outdoor pool club... "

"OUTDOOR Pool Club", I stand CORRECTED !

BUT..... My original advice still stands.

Putting an "old" one and a "new" one side-by-side will give you a MUCH clearer idea if the old one is "too worn".
