Question I want to photograph my son and the flag

Hi! I'm new here. My name is Shauna. My oldest son is a senior in high school and has already signed with the US Army. We will be doing his senior pictures soon and I want to photograph him with some Army things and the US Flag. Does anyone know if there are any rules or laws regarding this and if so, where I can find them. I want the pictures to honor the Flag, the Army and my son so I don't want to break any rules!

    Thanks

    Shauna

There are no regulations against photographing the USA flag, as long as the flag itself is displayed properly (that is, do not display the flag upside-down in the background.) A common way of including the flag in a photo is to have the person stand in front of an indoor (fringed) flag that is mounted on a wood pole standing on a base. The flag should be behind and just to the left of the person so you can see the stars over the person's shoulder.
