    Default Inappropriate Places to Sing the National Anthem?

    This past Saturday, we were at a local sports bars on Karaoke night. We were enjoying dinner and drinks when we noticed that most of the people were standing and someone was singing the National Anthem. It was very ackward and we would have cause more commotion coming out of our booth. There was no special ceremony, just a bunch of tipsy patrons. Is there inappropriate places to sing the National Anthem?

    Maybe it was the beginning of the ball game and someone wanted to join in with the crowd on TV?

    While some might consider it inappropriate to sing the Star Spangled Banner at a sports bar I think you got it right by saying you would have caused more commotion by raising objections.
