    Good Point!

Embroidered stars are definately a sign that the flags are 20th century vintage or later, but 50 years from now there won't be many people around who can tell the difference between a 48- or 49-star flag with embroidered stars made in the 1950's vs ones made in 2010!

But then the flagmaker could argue that all US flags from 13-star to 49-star are still "valid" American flags and aren't really "reproductions."

    Hi, JimmieJoe !

Sounds like an EXCELLENT plan, JimmieJoe!

If you're going to be looking on eBay for your authentic, period 45-Star Flag, here's the link to the eBay search (45-Star Flag) that I posted earlier so you can see what's available :

    http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=%2245+Sta r%22+Flag&_sacat=See-All-Categories

And of course, the link to the 45-Star Flag "Completed Listings" so you can see what the prevailing "market prices" are:

    http://completed.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=%2245+Star%22+Flag&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_s acat=See-All-Categories&_okw=%2245+Star%22+Flag&_oexkw=&_adv=1& LH_Complete=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sa dis=200&_fpos=Zip+code&_fsct=&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_ sop=1&_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_rdc=1

Good Luck on your search ! I hope you find "right" Flag at the "right" price !!!

If you have any other Flag-related questions or concerns, or you want to post some pictures of your "new" 45-Star Flag and display, Feel free to come back and post a thread here !!!

    Hey, JimmieJoe !

Before you get TOO excited, ask the seller to provide more pictures. ESPECIALLY close-ups of the Stars and other construction details!

I don't know if this particular Flag is for real as I am NOT an expert on antique or vintage Flags or their fabrics or their manner of construction.

IF you can get more pictures of the Flag, post them here so that maybe Nick (NAVA1974) can get a better look and lend you the value of his experience and expertise!

Who knows? Maybe it really is THE RIGHT FLAG for you !!!

THANX, JimmieJoe, and GOOD LUCK !!!

Remember, it's not just important that the Stars are sewn on, it's HOW they're sewn on !!!

BTW : I found it by clicking on the eBay search link that I posted earlier! I was curious as to what was new with it.

I hope the seller will provide some GOOD photos !!!

Sure! Use this link that will take you to another thread where I posted a multi-part mini-tutorial on the two different ways to post a picture ("attached" & "Imbedded"). Incidently, the thread has to do with..... Drum Roll, Please..... Wait For It..... a 45-Star Flag !!!

    http://www.usa-flag-site.org/forum/45-star-flag-1902-a-846-2.html

Also, on some of the Forum's "Index" pages there is a "sticky" item that American_Flag_UK put together.

ALSO, and I started doing this a couple of months ago, if I find a picture on-line that I want to post here (and it's the "right" size), I just right-click on it, select "copy", then come over here and post it IN a thread entry. THAT's how I included the picture of the 45-Star Flag on eBay. I just brought it up on its own page, right-clicked, "copied", then came here and pasted it in the page. In fact, I'll go see if I can find that Flag again and IF there are more photos, I'll put one or two in my next entry here!
