Robin,

You and others helped me find a 45 star flag for our display. As promised, I tried to post some photos of the display with the flag but can't seem to get it the right size. So please go to our blogsite and see the flag in action. The Hotchkiss Guru

Again, thanks for the help

Jim

Thanks for the link. The flag looks great! And there's no reason to be concerned about the off-white stripes. That is typical for old wool flags, and really looks in character with your other century-old artifacts.

Copy/Paste attempt went to "moderator". We'll see if this works.

Hey, JimmieJoe !!!

Your "eBay" 45-Star Flag is looking pretty good !!!

Do you have a way to "stabilize" & "support" the Flag when it's on display? Since it's well over 100 years old it might have a tendency to "separate" if it's just hung up without any support. I'm probably not using the right terms.

I guess I'm worried that the Flag's unsupported weight will cause it to sag and become mis-shapen if it's just hung up against the wall. Is there a way to temporarily "frame it" or "mount it" for static display purposes and fold it or roll it for travel and/or storage?

Just Wondering . . . . .

Thanks Robin for posting the photos. Could you do the same with the one where you can read about the Maine Gun? I do not hang the flag at home so it only hangs at the two or three day shows. I have been criticized because the flag hangs behind the table making it look cut-off. Heretofore I will bunch it on the back edge of the table. That should take some hang out of it. I also hung a cloth behind it so that the porous look was not magnified by the white wall behind.
I have also come up with an 8" X 11" yellow fringed parade flag in great condition.
Thanks again to all of you,
Jim

Hi, JimmieJoe !

I'll try, but the site's software keeps directing some of those kinds of posts to "The Moderator".

UPDATE : I just tried the Copy/Paste method and it was re-directod for Moderator's Approval. Hopefully, it'll appear sometime later today or tomorrow!

Up for auction on eBay is a Stereo Photo of the wreck of the USS Maine in Havana harbor!

Get the Stereo Photo of the USS Maine, then all you need for some "period" entertainment is a Stereo Viewer for the photo!

Tried "Copy/Paste" method again! Since this is a smaller photo, maybe it will work! If not, then it'll be up to the "Moderator" to "fix" things (again)!
