Yes I did, Robin. As I recall, I asked if modern flags "bit the dust" by fading or shredding. The answer turned out to be that they end up torn at the fly end before the blue and red fade out. I guess you would have to nail a flag on the south side of a barn in order to get extensive fading without structural damage to the fabric.
