    Default Ivan Kupala Day

Today (July 7th) is Ivan Kupala Day, a traditional midsummer festival that is celebrated in Russia and Ukraine. The first photo shows the flags that we're flying today. From left to right, they are Russia, Ukraine and a second, non-standard Ukrainian flag.

The second photo is a close-up of the non-standard flag. It has the Ukrainian colors of blue and yellow, with the traditional Ukrainian trident in gold. The trident is a very handsome symbol, but unfortunately the flag is not well designed; the contrast between the gold and the yellow background is very poor.
