| Hi all, I have a 38 star silk flag that measures roughly 14" x 16". I have had this for a long time and have finally deceided to find out something about it. The star pattern is definately linear, vertically that is, in and 8-8-7-7-8 pattern. It is silk with no fringe. There are 7 red stripes and six white. Anyone have any info on this? Thanks in advance, Barbara

| It sounds like you have a period 38 star flag from 1877-1889. As there was no prescribed arrangement of stars your flag has one of the myriad of star patterns found during this era. FYI ballpark value of printed 38 star flags is $100 to $200, with circular or great star pattern arrangements fetching higher prices.
