destroy a worn flag in a dignified manner. I will keep trying, but
perhaps this task could be made easier with web site links. Thanks.

    Hello,

Many local American Legion posts, Boy Scout troops, Girl Scout troops and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts take old flags to be destroyed in ceremonies. If the individual boy or girl scout troops in your area don't take flags, perhaps the regional council will.

I haven't found any websites that say you can mail old flags to them to be destroyed, so it's best to try to find someone locally, or to do it yourself. Retired flags should be burned in private, serious ceremonies. They can be burned in a campfire or in a barrel.

    Sarah
