mil spec flags or other?
My 55 foot flag pole is less than six months from erection, I am happy with it and the way it displays the American flag I selected. Here at the end of the Rockies at 6,500 feet the winds can be fierce. I am happy with the flag I originally purchased, and we are sewing it, in fraying repairs, about every two weeks. I do take it down when winds top 70+ mph here, which has happened twice.
I know the term MIL-Spec flags, and am aware that they are super heavy duty. When the time cones to replace my present flag, I assume I shall be buying a MIL-Spec flag. I am assuming that, like everything else nowadays, there are MIL-Spec flags and there are others under this label that are not of the same high quality.
If you have practical expereince with these sort of flags and know how long they can take a beating, I would appreciate your information. If you have experience flying flags for a long period, and have found a flag which really stands up and is the best for the money currently, I'd appreciate your input.
Thanks in advance,
Gene so
