Default New Flagpole (Update)

This morning I was to receive my new Sunsetter Flagpole. (7/2/09) I checked the UPS tracking site. To my surprise it showed the the flagpole had been delivered. The only problem is, it was delivered to a person in Western PA. I live in North Central WV. The address on the UPS site shows my address as the destination. Sunsetters records show the right address. I think Big Brown goofed. It was even signed for. The name sure isn't mine!!!

Sunsetter is going to make it good, but my plans for a new flagpole before the 4th are shot.

On a good note, I received the Eagle Finial for the new flagpole. I now have the Finial, a new WV State Flag, and 4 bags of concrete, plus a bag of gravel for the new flagpole. A new UAS Flag will come with the pole. (Someday)!!!

I will let you all know what happens.

Greengo, The guy "WITHOUT" a new flagpole in WV!!!

Hi, GreenGo !

Sorry to hear about the "Big Brown" goof-up (SNAFU, FUBAR, etc.) !

I hereby PROMISE that I will most definitely fly an EXTRA ("Old Style") American Flag out in front of my house on July 4th, 2009, to honor GreenGo's Determination & Patriotism in the face of insurmountable and un-duck-able "Brown Stuff" hitting the fan !!!

I'll even post a picture of it RIGHT HERE !!!

You have heard about the man without a country? I am the man without a flagpole.

I recon I will have to stand in the front yard on the fourth with the Finial fastened to my head, an a flag fastened to each arm.

Such is life!!!

Beleive it or not I just checked the UPS site and my flagpole is on the move again. 12 hours after being deleivered to the wrong party, it statred a new journey. It went from Western PA to Eastern PA and then back to the same depot that it started out from last night. Come on "Big Brown", get your act together. By this time next year I should have my "new", (aged by travling), flagpole installed. "Maybe he said with fingers crossed!!!"

It seems that most of us feel that we are fortunate enough to have a "stationary" flagpole.

BUT . . . . .

Very (VERY!) few of us are truly blessed, like our Good Man, GreenGO, by being a full-fledged, CHARTER MEMBER of the "Worldwide Exalted & Mystical Brotherhood Of The Traveling Flagpole" !!!

LOVE IT !!!!! Now for the latest, latest!!! I just got an e-mail from Sunsetter. They are having UPS deliver the falgpole back to them. I talked to a Sunsetter agent and she said I would be sent another flagpole in a week or two. If I had ths over to do again, I would have purchased from someone else. I started this whole process two weeks ago this Saturday.

"Flagpoleless" in WV!!!

Thank You!!! I did manage to get a flag displayed. I took what was left of my old flagpole, (about 12' of pipe), and just stuck it in the ground. I tied my flag to it. For a makeshift job it didn't look all that bad!!! At least I had a flag up for display on the 4th.

Hi, Greengo !

Due to your on-going "problems" of getting your SunSetter telescoping flagpole delivered "on time", I promised you a couple of days ago that I would fly an "old style" American Flag in front of my house for you!

As Promised.....

Glad to read here that you were able to successfully "jury-rig" (re-cycle) a Flagpole for yourself !!!

Thanks Robin!!! That really means a lot to me. Your display looks great.

On the Sunsetter front, I got a personal e-mail from a service tech there yesterday. She said that my flagpole would ship out today,"again". When it gets here, "if ever", I will let you know.

Thanks again!!!

Greengo, Waiting in WV
