[Panama Jack]

Hello everyone, I'm glad to have found a forum about the U.S. flag. I am interested in it's history but especially in promoting the proper usage of the flag. I am surprised at how often it is misused in the name of patriotism. I look forward to learning a lot from this forum.

Welcome Panama Jack. I understand. I am in Idaho and I find that even basic knowledge of flag etiquette is being lost. The parents of kids today don't even know. There is much to learn. But if you get out there and teach the basics such as standing at attention, proper saluting, when to salute etc it will go a long way. I teach kids at our Middle School as a member of the American Legion and I teach Scouters as I am one also. I also teach the kids in Scouts but what I have learned the most is that adults don't know either. Welcome aboard. Enjoy. Mike
