Default New Guy from southern California

Long time (unregistered) lurker. Just joined to make it official and be part of the community.

My interest in vexillology is primarily the United States flag, it's variations, origins and historic events surrounding those changes. I also like the trivia associated with those changes.

Since reading the forum I have come to appreciate the wacademic fringe on the flag threads. Perhaps I am an unusual new member since I regard the fringe rather than as evidence of a vast conspiracy of shadow political organizations as proof positive of malevolent invaders living in the center of the earth and can show that proof in the Constitution.

When not hunting center of the earthers I spend a lot of time on tool forums and automotive forums if I'm not out looking for tools or using them.

I am really impressed with the knowledge I see here. Thanks for reading.

Welcome, Steve! Glad you decided to join us.

Come to think of it, we haven't heard from any of those "gold fringe" guys recently. Obviously they have been totally overawed by the knowledge and expertise of the forum members, and have changed their minds . . . . Naah, not likely!

    Best regards,

Welcome to the USA Flag Forum, Steve.

It has been a while since I have done much work under the hood, but I have changed sparkplugs and hoses, replaced an alternator and a water pump, not to mention a radiator or two in my time, but that was way back when you could actually reach your hand into the engine compartment and access these features without skinning your knuckles or burning your hand on a hot exhaust. Now about the only thing I do is change my own front brake pads. Yeah, I'm a wimp when it comes to cars. I even let the JiffyLube guys change my air filter.

But I do have a fairly good collection of flags!

Hope to be able to discuss topics of vexillological interest with you.
