Smile New Member & Patriot Guard Rider

Hi! Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself to see if I could get the correct information to ensure I don't disrespect the American Flag or those I am standing in for during a Patriot Guard Mission. I am new to being a Patriot Guard Rider and working with an American Flag.

It is such an honor to stand before the families of our fallen veterans, to hold vigil for others who need protection from protesters, etc., that I want to make sure I am doing everything correctly.

Can you please direct me to the correct protocols while on missions? I would greatly appreciate all the help.

Dee

Hello, Dee !

Welcome to the USA-Flag-Site Forums !

I, for one, am completely UN-familiar with the protocols & procedures in use during a Patriot Guard Riders "mission". So I won't be able to help you with that. About the only thing I can do at this time is provide you with a link to the Patriot Guard Riders National website.

http://www.PatriotGuard.org/

They have a Forums section on that website, so I'd think that there would be more than a few people there who could answer any of your PG questions.

Sometimes a question about the use of the American Flag during a PG meeting or mission might come up. In that case, we might be able to help you with that. Also, someone might mention the "Flag Code", which covers a LOT when it comes to the "Do's & Don'ts" of the care and usage of the American Flag. We can help you with that too!

In the meantime, if you'd like to look at (and bookmark) the "Flag Code", here's a link to a patriotic website that has a copy!

I hope this helps you !

Thank You for bringing your Flag-related question to our Forums !

Hi, Dee !

I just visited the PGR site and checked the membership list and saw that you are already a member there!

Or at least there is an "Elvenfare" from Des Moines, Iowa who joined there on May 31st, 2009.

At any rate, I hope they have some kind of a "PGR Members Handbook" that will be able to answer most of your PGR questions.

As for your questions about Flag protocols, I hopw we'll be able to answer all of THOSE questions HERE !!!
