| I live in Milwaukee WI and, after reading some of the articles in the forums I never Knew how much I did'nt know about the American Flag and the rich history connected. I own 2 48 star american flags, a 4'x6' and a 5'x9', and a 5'x9' 50 star from my Father's funeral I consider myself quite the history buff and plan on collecting a few more historical flags as well as perhaps some vintage bunting. One question that I have right now: is it considered poor form to actually fly a 5'x9' funeral flag or are they oficially considered as just a memorial symbol not really intended to be flown on a staff?

| Hello Sipi, and welcome. By all means fly that flag. I am sure your father would be honored to have "his" flag doing its duty just like he did. Some say that the cotton internment flags are not outdoor flags but that is bogus -cotton was THE flag fabric for most of the mid 20-th century until nylon and now polyester have proven to be more durable fabrics.
