closed on Memorial Day, when the flag should be lowered to half staff until noon. What is the best way to handle that? Should we take it down on the Friday before Memorial Day or is it ok to keep it at full staff on Memorial Day because we wouldn't have any staff there to lower the flag.

    Kristina,

Either way, your display of the flag will not meet protocol. It should always be flown at half staff the first half of the day on Memorial Day though it should always be on display on Memorial Day in general--so if you don't fly it you'll be mising one of the most important holidays for the flag.

My opinion is that you should choose the lesser of two evils--which one, I don't know. It's really up to you unless you can convince someone to come in over the holiday and tend to matters. Good luck!

Fly the flag! I think it's better to fly and be "wrong" rather than not fly at all.

    AND

THANKS for going through the trouble of flying her 24-7. Nothing better than a view of our flag all lite up at 0-dark thirty!
