SUBJECT : OREGON Apartment Complex BANS U.S. Flags !!!


A situation similar to the one discussed in the following thread (see link below) has occurred at "The Oaks" apartment complex in Albany, Oregon.

Hopefully, when they discover the existence of Public Law 109-243 ("Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005"), the owners & managers of "The Oaks" will come to their collective senses and allow their tenants to lawfully display the American Flag !!!

Until then, I hope the tenants of "The Oaks" will continue to defiantly, but respectfully, fly their American Flags !!!

Good News !!!


A little over an hour ago, the owners and the manager of "The Oaks" apartment complex announced that the ban on the tenants' display of their own (personal) American Flags has been lifted.

Apparently, there was some "confusion" over the exact nature and extent of the flag ban. Some of the confusion seems to have stemmed from WHICH flags were included and from WHERE, and maybe WHEN, they could (or could not) be flown.


It's about 12:30 PM, so I guess more will be "revealed" when the local TV news comes on at 5:00 PM.

I really liked this part, which was at the end of KVAL's story :

WHAT ?!?!?!?!

He didn't talk it over with the apartment manager and try to straighten things out BEFORE shooting off his mouth to the media ?!?!?!?

Hello, Again !


The Albany Democrat-Herald has an updated story on the flag-flying ban : "Albany apartment complex rescinds flag ban" :

On their website on Friday, October 9th, the ADH ran two slightly different versions of the original story. For the most part, it seems (to me) that either story had more info than the TV news stories did.
