    Default Position and Orientation

Im designing a small sign for our team at the American Cancer Societies Relay for Life, and I am using the American Flag along with the Portuguese flag. I have attached a picture below, the flags would go in the angled cutouts in the picture. I believe that I should have the US flag on the left in the picture with the Union in the corner furthest to the left, the bottom left corner.

Could anyone confirm this for me?

    Thanks!

    Hello, tanky321 -- welcome!

Your layout sounds right -- the US flag on its own right, with the union facing to its own right. The only thing that's a bit strange is that the union will be on the "low end" of the flag. The union is usually thought of as the most important element of the flag, and having it lower than the fly might look a bit odd. From your photo, however, it looks like you are already committed to that arrangement.

    Best regards,

Although the two areas for the Flags are widely separated, it would almost look very similar (with a little imagination) to two national Flags on crossed poles hung on a wall, or even, perhaps, somewhat like two national Flags crossed on a "friendship" lapel pin.

    Something like THIS :

    It's just a thought.
