Default Presenting flag at entrance of cemetary

I am new to this site and proud to be.
We are having a ceremony for a fallen soldier, the people of this town want to display a flag from two fire department ladder trucks vertically over the entrance to the cemetary. My question is that they are presenting the union to the right as you ride under the flag. I understand that if on a street, the North or East rule applies. But this is the entrance not a street. Can I get some help on this?

    Greetings, hdwolf -- welcome!

Although it's not specifically stated in the flag code, the general rule seems to be that you use the north/east facing rule if the flag is visible from both sides (e.g., hanging over a street or from the ceiling in the middle of a sports arena). If it's against a wall and visible from only one side, then the union goes on the viewer's left. In your case, it sounds like it will be visible both from the street when entering, and from the cemetary when exiting. If it were my call, I'd go with the north/east option.

    Best,
