    Hello,

There are general guidelines for flags flown at home versus for public display, but there aren't any regulations for the size of a flag carried in a parade.

The idea is that the flag be proportional to the pole. For instance if you have a 15 or 20-foot pole, you'll use a three-foot by five-foot flag. You could go up to a four-foot by six-foot flag for a 25-foot pole.

Of course someone in a parade isn't going to be carrying a pole that long, so I would go with a three-foot by five-foot flag, which is a pretty standard size. The real answer is to use a flag that is big enough to be seen and not look small in proportion to the pole being used to carry it, but not so long that it will drag on the ground when being carried.

    Thanks for asking!

    Sarah
