Thumbs up "Some Gave All" by Billy Ray Cyrus or "God Bless The U.S.A." by Lee Greenwood

I have to say that my favorite two patriotic songs would have to be:

"Some Gave All" by Billy Ray Cyrus; and
"God Bless The U.S.A." by Lee Greenwood.

Most of the time I'd tell you that they are tied for first place, in my book, but, if someone were to FORCE me to choose one, I'd have to choose "Some Gave All" by Billy Ray. The chorus of the song pretty much sums it up...

The song, for those of you that haven't had the priviledge of hearing it before, talks about a man named Sandy Kane. He wasn't well known, but he had been in a war. The verses talk of how the singer is talking with Sandy Kane and he begins to tell the story of the reason Americans have the freedoms and liberties we have today.

I knew a man called him Sandy Kane,
Few folks even knew his name,
But a hero was he.

Left a boy, came back a man,
Still many just don't understand,
About the reasons we are free.

I can't forget the look in his eyes,
Or the tears he cried,
As he said these words to me.

All gave some, Some Gave All,
And some stood through for the red, white and blue,
And some had to fall.

And if you ever think of me,
Think of all your liberties and recall,
Some Gave All.

Now Sandy Kane is no longer here,
But his words are oh so clear,
As they echo through out our land.

For all his friends who gave us all,
Who stood the ground and took the fall,
To help their fellow man.

Love your country and live with pride,
And don't forget those who died,
America can't you see?

All gave some, Some Gave All,
And some stood through for the red, white and blue,
And some had to fall.

And if you ever think of me,
Think of all your liberties and recall,
Some Gave All.

And if you ever think of me,
Think of all your liberties and recall, Yes, recall...
Some gave all.

Some gave all.

I don't cry often, but, I must admit that every time I hear this song, it brings a tear to my eye.

.
HiYa, Walt !

BOTH of those are VERY PATRIOTIC songs!

I think they'd make fine additions the the "Patriotic Songs" collection here on this (or any other) website!

Thank You for your contributions !
