Covering the flag???

  1. I had a enquiry from a neighbor. US and State flags are displayed in a building. Is there any reason that they would be ever be covered? My knee jerk response is NO but I said I'd check. I say let her fly!

I can think of a few remote possibilities, though it would make more sense to just remove the flags temporarily than to cover them.

    1) To protect them from debris or dust when construction / rehab of the building is underway.

    2) To cover secular symbols when particular religious ceremonies are underway.

    3) To protect them from direct sunlight during parts of the day.
