Looking for info on this flag...just came into possession of it. Appreciate the help!
This flag is commonly known as the "First Navy Jack," and is currently flown on the bows of all US Navy ships. I wrote a detailed RAVEN article about it a few years back, which is available on the NAVA web site here:
The "Don't Tread on Me" flag that you have is the original Naval Jack of the U.S.A. By the looks of the stitching that is a high quality flag. The flag is used today primarily flown by myself and those who are advocates for individual liberty/small gov't.
There are many YouTube videos describing the history behind the motto.
